I.K.s latest album entitled "Hell? No!" is the first in Christian Hip
Hop to come out on the R&B tip. The phat bass lines looped over tight
beats creates a mellow R&B environment that is pleasing two crowds in
the music industry. The people buying this album vary from Hip Hop heads
to people that normally would not enter the Hip Hop section of a music
store. Addressing todays issues I.K. manages to weave in a message of
hope. The message is not compromise while neither is the quality of the
music. I.K. has there own flavor of rap, but many people like to compare
Christian music to artists out in the secular world. If I was forced to
compare it to secular music I would compare the delivery of the lyrics
two Tupac and the musical production to Jodeci. I recommend that music
vendors file it under R&B Hop, a category that I.K. created. Special
guests include Brainwash Projects (Look for their album soon!), Peace586,
Super C, and last but not least Angie and Debbie Winans. This album is
suitable for the ears of many different types of consumers.
Chronologically this album takes you from the 70s to the 90s in a
matter of tracks.
