Review:It has been a while since we heard anything that the Gospel Gangstaz (Camp 8) added to the game. "The Flood" definitely shows their experience as rap artists and shows to the listener that they know what is up when it comes to rap music.

The album starts out with "What it do," and I love the vibe this song puts out. It's kind of a crunk-ish west coast party song. If anyone has been fiending for some new Gospel Gangstaz music, this song does not let you down.

Another highlight on the album is "Back then" featuring K-nine. I heard this song on the K-nine mixtape a while back when it wasn't complete, Solo still had a few bars to add and the mix wasn't up to par. This song is tight. It brings back the classic r&b singer the 2g's always had on their hooks. The flows are quite scientific on this track.

One last song I would like to point out is "City Lights," which seems to be a flashback to "Testimony." It's a good song. Solo spits pretty sick on all the tracks. I was kinda disappointed that Tikk Tokk seemed sub par on this project.

Other hits from this album include "My life," "My G'z," "Raise up, roll out," and "Only Jesus Can Save Us." The production on the album is very mainstream sounding, comparable to their previous album "The Exodus." I have a hard time just riding through the whole CD like I could with their others, but this album definitely quenches thirst for some stellar production from some Original G's who know "What it do" in the rap game.

Review:A good rap album has good, catchy hooks, tight production and clever lyrics. Picture that album in your head, minus the catchy hooks and you find "The Flood."

I would still recommend buying it if you are a Camp 8 fan, but don't expect a classic.

Review:Gospel Gangstaz Get Ready for New Release. - H2O Records have signed a label deal with Alliant Music Group. On August 8, 2006, H2O Records will release their first album with Alliant Music Group, The Flood, recorded by the Gospel Gangstaz.
Over the past 10 years, the Gospel Gangstaz have earned the position as the forerunners of the holy hip-hop movement. During this time, they have released four albums, and have been nominated for 3 Stellar Awards and 3 Dove Awards. Their first two albums, Gang Affiliated (1994) and Do Or Die (1995) are both critically acclaimed projects. The third album, I Can See Clearly Now (1999) was nominated for a Grammy and in 2004 The Exodus was released.
“We don’t just wanna be rappers, we are about ministry and the Father led us to do this. It’s all about reaching and building the body. We want to do a lot more work with your centers, ever establish our own youth centers, and make a difference,” says Solo, one of the Gospel Gangstaz.
Coupled with their ability to combine street savvy and moving lyrics, the Gospel Gangstaz share touching testimonials rooted in their love for Christ, which has won them the respect of both the gospel and hip-hop communities.
