| Review: | Een CD met een ruige East Coast. Barry G. was in de
startfase lid van PID.

Review: | Grapetree is een platenmaatschappij die vanuit een HipHop
perspektief is begonnen. Ze brengen toffe stijlen die nog
niet in Christelijke HipHop bestaan. Alleen het jammere is
dat de productie slecht gedaan is. Je koopt een CD, maar je
hebt het geluid van een overgenomen cassette. Op deze CD
staan veel voorkomende beats en samples. Op zich wel goed,
maar niet erg origineel. Gelukkig brengt Barry G. wel
originele rhymes. Barry G. begon in '86 bij PID, maar was
er mee gestopt toen PID meer ging entertainen in plaats van
evangeliseren. Zijn teksten zijn sterk, de produktie wat
minder, maar al met al toch een coole CD om te hebben. | | source: Rap&Roer Nr 2., 1996, added: Feb 23, 2005
Review: | In the mid to late 70's, when hip-hop first sprang on the
scene. coming up in rough Oak Cliff neighborhoods and West
Dallas projects was hard, and Barry began growing up to be
"nothin' but a hoodlum." In 1986, at the age of 16, Barry
found a unique escape in hip-hop when he formed the rap
group P.I.D. Barry's group recorded their first album, and
were an overnight sensation. After three releases, over
150,000 album sales and worldwide tours, the group began to
focus more on entertainment, Barry, being committed to youth
ministry, decided to separate and become a youth pastor,
where he would have direct influences on individual lives.
While off the stage for four years, he was not off the
scene! Barry developed even tighter production skills and
kept a keen ear to the street. Now Barry G is back up in yo
face representin' with "Rugged Witness." | | source: God\'z House on Internet, added: Feb 23, 2005
