Review:If you're not paying attention to the lyrics, you probably think Beridox is just another hardcore rapper. His beats hit hard and he delivers like a bombardier, but this Philly MC is taking a more evangelical path than most. His “Holy Hip-Hop,” as he calls it, is better than anything else I've heard today. I'm not the biggest fan of Jesus Christ, but Beridox has skills...and he never once mentions his phat new rims.

Review:What are people saying about Beridox's N.O.L. aka Newness Of Life Sophomore CD?

(4 Stars) - Good Stuff
This CD does a great job of representing Christ well and walking out our life in him. Great tracks to vibe to as well... almost like something you would throw on at a BBQ with your unsaved fam and watch seeds get planted :). Solid project indeed!!

(4 Stars) - Solid Project
Shout out to Beridox for allowing the Lord to use him in edifying the Body of Christ. This CD is a blessing. Cop it if you all didn't already. B that first track is crazy. God Bless

(5 Stars) - The Hotness
Much love & props to my Brotha' Beridox 4 producing another INCREDIBLE CHRISTcentric CD. Bangin' beats & Dope Rhymes & All glory given 2 GOD! Nuff said! GOD bless!

Hey B, "What's good fam?" Your latest project has been a blessing to me Bro. If there were more stars to give it, it will be more than 5. Since I've got your CD I haven't stop listening to it. God has blessed you and put his anointed this project and you can heard it in every song. Continue to let God use you as you continue to bless his people with the gift given to you. God Bless!

(5 Stars)
This album is deep, and the flow is crazy...if you lookin for a certified ill joint which Christ is represented through and through, this is the one for you!

(5 Stars) - This Is Fresh!
B.E.R.I.D.O.X.'s latest album, N.O.L. (Newness Of Life) is a banga (IMO)! It's got hype beats and great guests on it. Recommended by me for buying.

Review:Romans 6:4 We were buried therefore with Him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.

New birth. New pursuits. New priorities. This is what the Holy Spirit injects into the believer who has truly submitted to Christ. Sorrows are traded for joy and finite weights are traded for eternal glory. Bryant Tabb aka B.E.R.I.D.O.X., which means “Bryant. Educates. Radically. Informing. Disciples. Of. The. X. (which means unknown but interpreted here as the Truth, which is in Jesus Christ).”, brings this to the forefront on his 18- track sophomore release, Newness Of Life. In actuality this should be considered a redshirt sophomore LP, because Beridox has been on the scene long enough to have been a mainstay on the Christian rap charts of the original mp3.com (ahhh 2001, reminisce with me).

AdvertisementAs soon as you get into "Be Inspired" and "Real Talk" one thing has to be understood about Beridox, the brother is in his lane like Dre Murray. The style is fully Philly and aimed at those who appreciate the unabashed Biblical truth brought with fists clenched. A diverse collection of tracks were solidly created by Beridox, Psalmist, Bombnem Productions, B-Ezy Beats, E-Hood, Trig, and Saint Joe. None of the music on the CD is overly Pop- influenced; a few tracks tip- toe the line of 90's underground with basic keyboard melodies ("Are You Listening?", "Pitfalls", "It's Raining") and the more crisp songs ("Ya Gotta!", "Another True Story" ) have a jazzy feel to them.

All of the featured artists take to the mic and add to the presentation of the celebration and struggles of the new life. Bringing all three coasts together on "Unified Front" Beridox, APX (L.A.), and Excelsius (Houston) co- labor on this song about the beauty of the Body's communal qualities. A-1, B.I.G. C.I.T.Y., Neophyte, E-Hood, and Trig are some other brethren that drop an effective verse or two on several songs throughout the CD. The standout songs on this solid project are "Newness of Life" -the title track- feat. E. Daniels, Jr., "Another True Story", "Pitfalls" a truth- filled internet warning, and "Fighting Temptations" which is a beastly cypha track showcasing lyrical gems by Beridox, Setfree, Worship, Ril, and Neophyte.

Those who are justified by faith in Jesus Christ truly understand the newness that comes with a life that is no longer about satisfying self with sin. Beridox successfully conveyed this point across the board as he spoke to those in and outside of the Body. From lyrical love ballads ( "Another True Story") to intense praise joints ("The One") and smooth head nodding tracks ("D.A.N.C.E."), Beridox shows exactly why he is such a widely respected rhyme minister. I am definitely refreshed by Beridox sticking to a formula that has worked for years and not being out snap danced out of his niche by musical trends or fads. This CD is definitely worth a listen and should especially appeal to fans of the first two Cross Movement releases, Lampmode, and those who appreciate an overall in- the- pocket vibe to their music.
