This song commemorates Jiska Nagtegaal's life and passing away, due to an illness called Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph system. The disease came to light after examining a small lump in her neck in April 2000. After a long battle and many operations, the doctors needed to stop treatment on Jiska.
A grant farewell party was organised by the foundation Doe Een Wens (Editor: Make A wish) on October 28th, 2000. A week later on November 3rd she passed away at the age of 16 years old.
The mother wrote a book regarding the loss of her daughter: "Jiska : ik verloor mijn dochter aan kanker" Nagtegaal, Magreet (2007), ISBN 9789033818417.

Lyrics by Rik Zutphen (Eye Deeh):

Precious young nightingale
Beautiful nightingale

Beautiful nightingale singing
Songs beyond infinity
From morning till evening
You touch souls with harmony
In the Hand of the Almighty
a very special tool
I can see His everlasting glory
In you You're a shining jewel

Precious young nightingale
Beautiful nightingale
Just began to sing
We enjoy hearing you sing

Now you have to spread your wings
Like the Chinese nightingale
Your melodies bring laughter
As a wonderful fairy-tale
But no happily ever after
Oil and Dirt spread over wings
Making her loose her feathers
Courageously she struggles to sing
No matter what weather

Precious young nightingale
Beautiful nightingale
Just began to fly
We enjoy seeing you fly
Fly away disappear behind the sky
As we here are left with one big why
Why o why you have to…
We'll cry but God will dry our eyes
With love and inner tissues

Would it rain in heaven today x3
Cause you're not here to stay
When you Fly away
You fly away

Be still in the wind
I can still hear her sing
Softly, in heaven
