He's the man behind the internetsites Rapzilla.com,
Rawkzilla.com, Rapzillashop.com and Raproom.net. He is an
American, who also speaks French. Besides being a DJ he has
taken up producing as well.
Rapzilla.com
Philip Rood started working on Rapzilla.com in March 2003
and launched the site in September 2003. He wanted to bring
more diversity on the internet, since only two sites were
online Sphereofhophop.com and the Hip Hop Zone message board
in 2003.
Holy Hip Hop Toolbar
Besides the re-design of Rapzilla.com in November 2006
Philip came up with a new version of the Holy Hip Hop
Toolbar in April 2007. The first version dates from 2005.
Rap Room
DJ Zilla launched a new concept called The Rap Room at
Raproom.net in August 2006. On this site artists themselves
can upload their music and profile to reach their audience,
holy hip hop lovers from over the globe, through one
source.
Stores
Philip started the Rap Shop, Rap-shop.com in 2004, but
closed it down in 2006 to found a digital music only store
called the Rapzilla Shop in April 2007, at
Rapzillashop.com.
Honoree
The Fellowship of Holy Hip Hop hosts the 8th Annual Holy Hip
Hop Artist Showcase and Music Awards during Holy Hip Hop
Week in Atlanta, Georgia, January 18-19, 2008. DJ Zilla is a
2008 Holy Hip Hop Music Awards Honoree.
Compilations
He also released the album "Rapzilla : the compilation
volume 1" in 2005. The album was a free download at the site
Rapzilla.com.
Mixtapes
The mixtape "Raw" is postponed until later notice.
Dance
The DJ also ventures into the techno dancestyle with the EP
"Hi-Tek", released March 2007 and "The Calling EP" in
2008.
