Info:Smooth tha Messenger released his selftitled debut album on Metro One in 2001. Smooth is one of the premier rap/hip-hop artists in Christian music today, as well as being the creative force behind the popular rap group K2S (Key to Salvation).

Awards
Their single, "After the Rain," from their album Welcome to the New Era (1997) garnered them a top 10 CHR hit. Dove Award nominations followed for both rap song of the year and rap album of the year. Every radio single K2S has released has been a top 5 rhythmic hit. With all of his past accolades, Metro 1 Music jumped at the chance to launch Smooth's debut solo album Tha Messenger (2001).

Born and Raised
Smooth was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. While growing up, Smooth dealt with the struggle of living in South Central but never bowed to the pressures of the streets. At the age of 16, Smooth dedicated his life to Christ and has been living for God ever since.

Worldwide
Now Smooth has recorded five full length albums, which have sold a combined amount of 80,000 records worldwide, recorded two music videos, performed in 46 states in the U.S., and averages about 100 concerts a year.

Mission
Smooth's mission is characterized by passion, dedication, hard work and a deep commitment to delivering groundbreaking music with a message for people worldwide.

Debut album
His first solo album Tha Messenger is co-produced by D-Black, a mutli-platinum producer who has worked with many artists such as Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Doggy's Angels, Ice T, and produced the multiplatinum single "Wobble Wobble" by the 504 Boyz. "I wanted to do a record completely different from a K2S record. I wanted my whole style to be different," states Smooth. "Working with DBlack was a nice experience. He brought the project to a whole new level."

Positive Message
The MC continues: "One thing I really wanted to address on this record was the unsaved. That's why I wrote the song "Don't Hate Tha Flow" which talks about how a lot of people think that Christian music has less worth than regular music. Once non-believers hear that it's Christian or Gospel they tend to shy away from it! All I'm trying to do is to give you a positive message instead of a negative one! Don't hate what I'm doing because I'm trying to touch peoples lives!"

New Project
The rapper is currently working on his sophomore album, which will be released in 2007. No workingtitle known as of yet.
