Releases: | [The Debut [version 2]] [The Debut [version 1]] | Info: | D.O.G. Squad is a rap group from Fort Worth, Texas. The
group consist of Traum, Tac and Hellfighter. They have been
performing together for over 12 years now. They have been
doing rap for Christ for over half of that time.
Neighbourhoods
God has led them to minister in some of the roughest
neighbourhoods in Texas. They all found Christ together,
which saved them out of a life of drugs and gangs.
Performing and doing shows wherever they can they slowly
began gaining recognition, with their song "D.O.G. Anthem"
playing on airwaves across the nation.
Debut Album
Now after a long journey of broken promises, spending all
their own money to hit the road, and many let downs, they
have finally released their debut album titled "The
Debut". The album is released on Groovesound Records in
2004, which is also the first national release for the
label. The album features notable gospel rap artist such as
Antonious, KJ-52, and Dooney, as well as some other upcoming
artists.
Stage
They have shared the stage with such gospel artists as Raze,
Out of Eden, Niki Leonti, Lil' Raskall, Antonious, Nuwine
and more.
Get Love
"We was making music before we got saved. All 3 of us were
tight with one another, thats why we click together. We make
the kind of music that God puts inside of us. We get love
from saved and unsaved people." states Traum, one member
from D.O.G. Squad. "We know everybody is not gonna like it,
we know some will say it don't say Jesus enough or yall rap
about yall self too much. But not everyone knows our
calling, or what God wants us to do. We feel we make good
music and were gonna tell you it's good but it's all cuz
of Christ."
Ministry
"Not everyone buys CD's to hear a sermon. We love to get
on stage and rock the show but after that when people come
up to us, that's when D.O.G. Squad's ministry start,
that's when the soul winning takes place for us. That's
what we feel God called us to do. We've done shows with
these big national artist, you know the ones that the church
wants to hear, and afterwards they're in the artist room or
whatever, that's cool, but we're the ones out there
associating with the people you know telling them about
Christ."
