Releases: | [The Brix] [3-E-O : Volume II : The Path] [3-E-O Volume I] | Info: | David Jackson formerly known as Jiggy Jack or
"Penetentiary" from the crew G-Side (God's Side) is Jack.
G-Side
He grew up in Detroit and formed in 1996 G-Side with MC
Jiggy Jack and Mr. Ran working the beats. The crew had a hit
with the song Misery and signed to Too $hort Records/Jive
Records. They contributed the song "When U see me" to
Jive's compilation album "Nation Wide : Independence
day", that went gold in 1998. As Penetentiary the crew
released their first album The Truth on City Click Records.
Prison
The succes had negative side effects to Jack's life and he
ended up in prison twice. It was during the second time that
God confronted him. An arrest landed David in jail for a
90-day sentence in 2001. An early fight landed in an
isolation cell for a week, where a previous inmate had left
a Bible. He read it, and recognized the Truth for him. And
so in a small, secluded cell, mysterious ways once again
prevailed.
Free
He got out, relinquished the rights to all the recordings he
had produced for Too $hort Records. He didn't want them,
because he felt he didn't need them anymore. God had found
David, and He was ready to put him to work.
Truth Rap
So Jack changed his lifestyle and also made a choice to use
his talents for God. With his "truth rap" as he calls it
Jack hopes to reach all people regardless of color, creed,
gender or beliefs with the possitive message of eternal
truth. He feels that the message from God is for all
people.
Albums
His first album 3-E-O stands for Third Eye Observations and
got released by Warpath Enterprises. A company he co-owns
with his brother Anthony "Tone" Jackson and long time
production associate and friend, Jeffrey Campo from Soweto
Productions.
Goal
With his albums Jack wants to present biblical truths to
believers and pre-believers to counter mainstream lies and
prompt people to see the world as God sees it – hence the
name 3-E-O.
New Album
In 2006 Jack uses the name G-Side again to release his
latest album The Brix. |
