Debut Recording
Elsie is releasing her solo recording for the first time.
The EP is part of the VII series. The release is postponed,
due to her son's birth in 2007.
The Wait
On January 30th, 2007 the femcee put a blog on her MySpace
site, regarding her struggle with her creativity and the
responsibilities that come with age: "It's been a few
years since my last project [Editor: New Breed : Nine
(2004)]. I feel too far removed from my emceeing days. I
feel… not old… just not a rapper… not relevant to the young
heads, but there is still my age group who still love hip
hop and would care about what I have to say… whatever that
may be. I'm concerned these days about making money,
getting out of debt, having a house and not working a 9-5 or
living paycheck to paycheck. I don't care about the whack
emcees anymore or the gimmicks or videos. I'm trying to
spend my time doing something that will bring about fruit.
People keep asking when's the next project? I just shrug it
off. It makes me feel good people haven't forgotten about
me and want to hear more, but all the more reason I think I
keep hiding my notebook! I'm a wife and a mother." |
