record is called If They Only Knew and is released on May
30th, 2006.
High School
Motivated by his faith in Jesus, Trip Lee represents the
Lord with all his heart. Currently in high school, most
don't expect a young believer like Trip Lee to be so serious
about his faith but the way he sees it, he feels he has no
choice, but to do so.
After high school the MC's ambition is to go to Bible school
and after that Seminary. As he says "So I can better equip
myself to communicate truth to those who need it."
Stand
Trip Lee's stand: If they only knew how great the God we
serve is they might see life different. If they only knew
how deep and serious our faith really is, maybe their lives
would look like a gang of believers that serve Christ and
not themselves.
Mission
As trip Lee says: "My mission musically is simply to
communicate God's heart to others. I want my lyrics to open
up minds and hearts, and I let the Spirit do the rest."
Audience
The audience of his music can go beyond the hardcore hip hop
fan, as Trip Lee states: "My audience is intended to be
anyone in or influenced by hip-hop. [...] Now it's more than
just inner city kids, it's the suburban kids, and pretty
much anyone you meet can recite word for word some hip-hop
song."
Nominations: Stellar Awards
His sophomore album "20/20" (2008) was nominated in the
category Rap/Hip Hop Gospel CD of the Year at the 24th
Annual Stellar Awards 2009.
