| Info: | T-Bone or the lyrical assassin as he introduced himself on
his debut album Redeemed Hoodlum in 1993 started his career
in 1991 with the JC Crew.
Chase
All of his albums are produced by his musical partner Chase
Gigante. His west-coast sound, funky beats and latin
American background make him a special artist. He can rhyme
in spanish and in English.
Stolen
The recordings of his second album Tha life of a hoodlum
(1995) got stolen out of the studio. But T-Bone came back
with what he felt were better songs than the original.
Acting
Lately T-Bone took up acting and can be seen in the film,
The Fighting Temptations (2003), starring Cuba Gooding
Junior and Beyonce Knowles and he has featured in the
musical Hero as the character "Jairus" (2003).
Vocal coards
In 2004 T-Bone was diagnosed with nodes on his vocal coards.
Nodes are calluses that form on the vocal coards after
misuse of the coards. Even with this setback a new album
Bone-A-Fide got released in 2005.
DJ
In February 2006 it became known that T-Bone's new official
DJ is DJ Type A.
Nominations: Grammy
The album "Bone-A-Fide" (2005) was nominated in the
category: Best Rock Or Rap Gospel Album for the 49th Annual
Grammy Award ceremony held on February 11th, 2007. It's the
first time the category title mentions "Rap Gospel Album" as
well.
A track on which T-Bone is featured received a nomination
the next year at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards 2008 in the
category Best Gospel Performance for the track: "With Long
Life" by Israel And New Breed featuring T-Bone. The track is
from the live worship album: A Deeper Level (2007).
Awards: GMA
T-Bone won in the category "Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the
Year" for "Name Droppin" of the album "Bone-Appetit :
Servin' up tha Hits"(2007) at the 39th Annual GMA Dove
Awards. The video made for this song was nominated as well
in the category "Short Form Music Video of the Year". The
award ceremony is held on April 23rd, 2008.
Presenter
T-Bone also is the host of Gospel Music Channel's hip hop
series "Hype & Glory". The show premiered fall 2006 in the
United States.
Albums
The rapper has released a new album entitled "Bone-Appetit"
in 2007. The album contains new and old tracks of
Bone-A-Fide (2006), The Last Street Preacha (2000) and
Gospel Alpha Mega Funky Boogie Disco Music (2002). The new
tracks are: "Sing Your Praises" (Spanish & English version),
"Raised In Harlem", "King Of My Life", "Penecostal Horse
Racing", and "Name Droppin".
Last Project
The rapper is said to release his last hip hop album in 2010
entitled "Bone Voyage". After this he will focus on making
praise music mixed with Carribean & South American music
styles.
