Releases: | [Since You Waited So Nicely] [8 Bars and Hook Featuring Elias] [Scraps Of Paper] | Info: | Elias Wallace has been involved with hip hop for many years.
Growing up in an innercity environment in Los Angeles county
listening to KDAY, one of the first West Coast hip hop
shows, listening to mixtapes and working on break dancing
moves were all beginnings to his love of hip hop.
Voice
Hip hop was just a part of the neighbourhood. It was the
voice of a community that was poor and otherwise had no
voice to raise. Elias was struck most by the political voice
that began to emerge in the late 1980?s and early 1990?s. As
he entered his teens and young adulthood, hip hop grew a
conscience at the same time that he was growing his.
Activist
This conscience inspired Elias to rap and speak on what he
saw around him. Elias became a community activist and
servant. Hip hop was a huge love, but took a backseat to his
service to the community through mentoring, tutoring and
political action programs.
Mic
In late 2000, Elias decided to pick up a mic again and began
making music with his unique blend of singing, political
lyrics and heartfelt life stories.
Crew
Besides being a solo artist Elias is a close member of the
crew Scribbling Idiots.
Features
The MC features on the project of DaFuniks (2007), a
jazz/hiphop fusion band from Denmark. Plus he makes a guest
apearance on Sev Statik & DJ Dust's album "Back to Dust"
(2007.) He joins his crew on the Scribbling Idiots' album
"The Have Nots" (2007).
Debut Album
His solo album "Scraps of Paper" was released in 2004.
New Projects
The rapper states regarding his new projects: "I am almost
completely finished with my newest LP that I will call,
"Since you waited so nicely. [...] But since it has taken so
long for me to bring an album to all those who have been
asking for so long for one, I named it "Since you waited so
nicely" and I have decided to make it a donation album. You
can give whatever you want for the album. I plan on
following this album up with an album in November called "8
bars and hook featuring Elias" which will be a compilation
of all the different features I have done with and for many
different artists. This will be an album that I will offer
as a free download. [..] Finally, it is my intention to
record a full length record with DJ Dust of Mars ILL in
March of 2009.
