Info:Heilig IJs made their debut in 1997 with Vertaalslag. The first Dutch holyhiphop release. The album got distribution through GMI. Heilig IJS consisted of Renger Boersma also known as De Muis and William Konstapel also known as De Tooster. De Muis is now known as the Leeuwezoon or LionCub and the Tooster as Idoalist.

Scene
Holy Eyes can be seen as one of the founders of the Dutch holy hip hop scene together with Rik Zutphen (Eye Deeh) of the crew Vorm.

Name
With the release of their second album in 2000 the crew changed the name from Heilig IJs into Holy Eyes.

Departure
The MC Idoalist departed from Holy Eyes in 2004 for personal reasons. The LionCub continued their legacy with DJ DieCast and later with the new addition MC Tijdgeest.

New member
On February 6th, 2008 a new member is added to the line up multi-instrumentalist Maik van der Dussen. Maik will accompany Holy Eyes during their live set on the bass, guitar etc.

Compilations
Two special compilations of rare tracks and remixed material have been made by Idoalist. They were downloads only:
- Het Naslagwerk
- Het Vuur en de Remix

Language
Although Holy Eyes started out rapping in their native tongue, Dutch, the crew already made some "English rapping" tracks on earlier albums, like "Andere inslag" (2000) and "Het vuur en de phoenix" (2003).
The transition was made complete in 2006, when the crew opened up for The Listener's "Tour of Homes" through Europe. Due to this international audience the choice was made to rap in English instead of Dutch. Collecting good tracks was LionCub's first priority for the new EP "Music is Evil", which came out in 2007.

Touring - United States
In April and May of 2007 Holy Eyes was the support act of The Listener's "Introducing Talk Music to America" tour through the United States.

Inhouse Concerts
The experience with the "Tour of Homes" by The Listener, performing in the house of a fan, would be used to announce the same concept of inhouse concerts in people's homes, backyards or clubs for Holy Eyes on September 4th, 2007.

New Project
The new EP "Music Is Evil" is released during
The Listener's "Introducing Talk Music to America" tour through the United States in April 2007. The EP is the first recording to include MC Tijdgeest and DJ DieCast. "Music Is Evil" is the first part of a trilogy Holy Eyes will be releasing.
