Prefekt. The Man Prefekt (Dislikes Your Biological Makeup)
formerly known as Verbal Essence has spent the last 10 years
actively involved in music and music production, as the one
of the founders and bass player for the alternative-indie
rock group HWY ONE.
Purity
Keep your ear out for this dedicated MC as actively pursues
what he deemes "hip hop purity and freedom of self
expression".
Music
The Man Prefekt realized at an early age that music would be
a key force in his exsistence and purpose. After moving from
his home on the Monterey Bay of California to Atlanta,
Georgia at the age of 17 to pursue a production deal with an
independent label, Prefekt soon realized that his journey in
music had just begun, when the band split in 2005, after
being together for 5 years, Prefekt moved on to eventually
get back to his roots in writing and performing raps. He had
started rapping in 1999.
Volunteer
When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in late 2005, Prefekt
decided to move their and volunteer full time as a relief
worker, for 10 months.
He worked sound at local outreaches and performed at various
events as a percussion and bass player as well as continuing
to perform and write lyrics.
Curbside Treaty
Near the end of his time in New Orleans, The Man Prefekt was
introduced by a mutual friend to a Bay Area rapper known as
Asaph Life after which he decided to move back to California
and pursue music fulltime eventually forming the rap duo
"Curbside Treaty" with Asaph.
Sound Technician
As they began work on their first full length production
"Tap Dancing On Tacks" prefekt also took a job as a host and
sound technician at a conference center in the Santa Cruz
mountains.
Debut Recording
There he began to write and produce his first solo project
"The Vagabond EP", released Fall 2006.
Collective
The MC joined the legendary rap collective "Shadow Of The
Locust" founded by rapper DiRT. This was announced on
Prefekt's MySpace Blog, dated April 2nd, 2007.
Crew
On May 24th, 2007 it was announced that Calmplex and The Man
Prefekt teamed up to form the group GUN.
Acting
The MC is also taking up acting and is cast as the character
Frances Kopeki in a movie called "The Tyrants Of Nazca" a
Westhavenbrook Production (May 2007).
Faulty Logic
Since 2006 Prefekt has started work on his second full
length production "Faulty Logic" working with producers such
as Kwaia Kue, Calmplex, and Mr. Wilson. The album is
postponed for now (22-11-2007).

His most recent album is "Nate Curry Is The Man Prefekt"
released in November 2007.
New Projects
On November 21st, 2007 the MC announced a new album for
2008, the production will be dealt by DiRT of Shadow of the
Locust. No title known as of yet.
