Info:Priesthood now consists of J-Raw, Mr. Swift and Chico Breeze. The group was founded in 1994 by J-Raw (junior Moaalii) and Papa Semm (Semi Tafao). The two came from different gospel rap groups. J-Raw was with a group called "Prophets of Peace" and Papa Semm was with "Next of Kin". In 1996 Mr. Swift was added to the line up.

Name
But the crew had been together playing shows, without a name, until Papa Semm presented, "Priesthood". This he saw in the Bible in Hebrews 7:24, "Because Jesus lives forever, we are a permanent Priesthood".
Papa Semm left after the recording of "Turn up your radio" in 2002. He went to help his mother to run their church.

Metro One Music
Priesthood released an independent tape in late 1997 and was soon there after signed to Metro 1 Music, January 15,1999. Their debut "Sprinkle Me Luv", was released in stores, July 20th, 1999.
The music is a mix of hip hop and R&B, which blends into a very soulful sound.

Crew
J-Raw or Junior Moaalii as he is known by friends and family was born in California, but was raised in American Samoa, an island within the South Pacific. He returned back to California in 1988. His parents were divorced and he finally ended in Lynwood where he stayed with his uncle and his family, who were devout followers of the Lord. J-Raw grew up listening to different styles of music in which later developed into a passion to write. He first started out in a group called "Prophet's Of Peace", who released a couple of independant CD's and he was also involved with a group from Compton, who had a group called "Village Crew Production". Then J-Raw decided to use his talents for God and founded Priesthood.

Identity
Mr. Swift (Kirk Douglas) was raised in a christian home, still he was searching for his identity. He didn't like the person, who he was. At a young age he accepted he needed Jesus in his life. He says about that time "So, I asked Jesus into my life personally and from the age of 15 he's never left me".

Foundation
Adam Maaele is Chici Breeze, who was born and raised in Carson, California. Adam was heavily involved in gangs, but had his grandparents and other people praying for him. This laid the foundation for the change in the lifestyle he was leading. In the year 1994 he accepted God. Now he's married and has four daughters.

New Project
On May 10th, 2007 the crew announces a new project in it's final stages before completion, entitled "Thug Worship".
