Lightheaded. Originally hailing from Brooklyn, New York, he
now resides in Portland. His parents are from Jamaica.
Production
He is a MC since 1993 and is producing tracks since 1997,
included artists are Mars ILL and the Listener.
Production alias
Ohmega Watts produced 2 tracks under the alias name of
Choclit Kennedy, they are: "On and On"
and "Slippin' Away" on the compilation: "Kero One Presents:
Plug Label" (2007, Plug Label). As the MC states: "They were
fun to produce, and it's under an alias of mine "Choclit
Kennedy", which is more synth and dance focused."
Albums
Ohmega Watts first solo recording came in the form of a 12
inch vinyl single entitled "A Request" released on Ubiquity
Records in 2004. The next year he released his debut album
"The find" (2005). The record has received good reviews from
magazines like Rolling Stone (645/2005), The Source
(11/2005) and Urb among others.
Singles
In September 2006 Ubiquity Records released their 200th
record and it's Ohmega Watts' single "No Delay", featuring
Surreal and the track Saywhayusay. The remixes of "The Find"
are done by his labelmate Waajeed from the crew PPP
(Platinum Pied Pipers).
Geneva Project
During the Ohmega Watts tour Surreal, Ohmega, Braille and DJ
Idull recorded "4 Days In Geneva". The album was released in
Japan in May 2007.
Featured
The MC also makes guest appearances like on the track “The
Glass Hour Effect" of multi-instrumentalist and singer Shawn
Lee's album "Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra: Voices and
Choices" (2007). The artist Shawn Lee is a labelmate of
Ohmega at Ubiquity Records.
Instrumentals
Ohmega Watts also released a track entitled "The Platypus
Strut (After School Special Re-Edit)" on "Choices EP 2"
(Ubiquity Records, September 11th, 2007). The Ubiquity EP
series features multiple artists, with all exclusive tracks
released on limited vinyl, CD and as a download.
New Project
He released his Ubiquity record entitled "Watts Happening"
in 2007.
Production
Besides being a solo artist Ohmega Watts produces music. For
2009 the project M64 is set and this will feature his
production and the female singer Ragen Fykes on the vocals.
Theory Hazit will produce a track with a guest appearance by
Pigeon John.
