Ryderz consisting of Theodore Brooks also known as MC Nobody
and Clinton Hopkins also known as Nine Up.
Gangs
They were heavily involved with gangs, drugs in other words
the ‘thug’ lifestyle. Theodore Brooks and Clinton Hopkins
would later on learn there was a better way. After both
young men embraced an alternate lifestyle, Christianity, in
1999 they joined forces to express their newfound passion
for God, through their love for hip-hop music.
Soultrain
C.L. Ryderz made history in 2004 as the first christian rap
group to perform on the American broadcasted TV show "Soul
Train". The Ryderz did two tracks from their maxi-CD-single
(2003) on Soul Train: "Game of Death" and "The Struggle
Is Over" featuring Six Foota Slimm. "The Struggle is
Over" is also featured in the documentary "Higher Ground :
Voices of Contemporary Gospel" (2004).
