Info:Gilead7 is Jon I. Gill, who has been raised with musical styles ranging from praise and worship to jazz.

Rock music
He started his interest for hip hop at the age of ten. But thinking that the skills of a MC were out of reach for him he started studying 60's-70's rock and folk music of which his favourite bands were The Doors, The Who, The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Led Zeppelin. He learned to play the electric guitar as well as getting accustomed to all the vintage equipment involved.

Interest
His new found interest for hip hop started in the summer of 1997 when he bought an album titled "Experience" from a new crew called the Tunnel Rats.

Albums
Soon after, he entered Judson College and began writing rhymes and started MCing. It is then that he adapted the name Gilead7, an alias he used while serving as a DJ for the campus radio station WJUD. In 1999, he recorded his first EP, entitled "Explosions". After two independant releases Gilead7 was already added to the ReServed Records roster in August of 2003.

Distribution
The MC secured a distribution deal in Japan
through Ultra Vybe in March 2006. For the United States his music will be distributed by Independent Distribution Collective.

New project
After the EP "Death Penalty Shots" (2007) Gilead7 focuses on his next project "2 track wonders". From this record comes the upcoming vinyl single "Movers and Shakas" (2008).
