Harmon also known as "reSEARCH". Both are member of the
ShadowFacts crew.
Direction
Vision1 was assembled in 1998 when two life long friends set
out to change the direction of hip hop music, but more
importantly change lives. reSEARCH and Details always had a
love for hip hop, but in the late 1990s they found
themselves bored with the lack of creativity. Thus, they
decided to take matters into their own hands.
K-Mart Mics
They started out scribbling down rhymes whenever and
wherever they could and recording them with a dirt cheap
karaoke machine and a couple of K-mart mics. They commenced
to hustling for shows and performances for anybody who would
listen.
First EP
Then they stepped up in technology somewhat and recorded on
their computer and burned copies to give away to local kids.
Next, they released the "Multiple Personalities EP" in
2001. This was a collection of Vision1 songs as well as
remixes of some other well known Christian hip hop songs.
They also gave copies of this away at shows and various
places to anybody who wanted it and even to some who didn't.
Next release
That was their last release until early 2004 when they
released the "Gas Money EP" as college took precedence over
their passion for a few years. It was originally thrown
together to sell at shows for a few dollars to essentially
provide "gas money" to and from the venue. Instead they
ended up distributing them free of charge once again.
Campaign
Vision1 started the "Be honest with yourself" campaign in
2005 from the idea that: "Our world would be a much better
place, if so many of our friends and family would simply
begin to be honest with themselves".
The flyer of this campaign urges people indirectly to think
about the influence the media and musicvideos can have on
your personal lifestyle and attitude.
Tour Album
Another album to raise funds for their tours, is the Show
Stoppin' CD. Most of the tracks are sneak previews from the
album "Trials and Thorns" (2007) and also from the
ShadowFacts album "Emerge" (2007).
