Christ Completely" based on the biblical scripture Proverbs
3:5, emerged on the holy hip hop scene in 2003. The MC is
born in New Orleans and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.
Comparison
Being at the young age of thirteen years old the comparison
was soon made with Billboard charting artist Lil' Bow Wow,
who entered the hip hop arena in 2000 at the same age.
Christ
Lil iROCC accepted Christ in his life at the age of seven
years old in 1997. When his mother Treiva Williams was
undergoing treatment for cancer. She and her husband gave
their lives to Christ and became active in the ministry of
the local church.
Drama
The MC explains why he tells people about his relationship
with God: "I've had drama and problems going on in my own
life, and when I?ve taken them to Him, He's always been
there to solve them for me. I want everybody to know He'll
do the same for them, too."
Labels
He signed at Forefront Records/EMI Gospel on June 25, 2003
for his first album. But after being released from his EMI
deal, the MC used his own imprint Authentic Music to put out
his sophomore record The Sequel. The distribution is handled
by Whitaker Entertainment/Whitaker House.
Debut Album
His selftitled debut album was a huge success in the
christian charts. During the debut week of June 24, 2003 Lil
iROCC's record was the 2nd highest selling CD within the
Christian market. The CD made number 15 on Soundscan
Christian Album Charts and number 27 on the Top Contemporary
Christian Albums Charts along with number 33 on Gospel
Albums Charts.
Awards
In addition, he was the winner of a 2004 Stellar Awards for
Children's Performance of the Year, plus nominated for a
2004 Dove Award in the Rap/Hip Hop Album category and
awarded the 2004 UGA Urban Contemporary Best New Artist of
the Year.
Movies
iROCC made his first appearance in the FHammond Family
Entertainment movie "Christmas...Who Needs It". He plays the
character of Reggie “Corn” Hackett: The bright, 17 year
old nephew of Duck, Russell, and Charlene. The DVD is
released on December 21st, 2007.
Production
In July 2006 news came out that iRocc signed a production
deal with the productionteam, PAJAM. This team consists of
Paul 'PDA' Allen, J. Moss and Walter 'Stone' Kearney. They
have produced for numerous gospel and secular music artists,
for commercial television and also for movies.
New project
On September 5th, 2007 iROCC Williams announces a new album
"Born a King" for 2008.
