Releases: | [Just Do It] [Crunk Wit' It (single)] | Info: | The Trinity consists of Kurtis Blow, Chris Flow and Ricky B.
The crew released their first single entitled Crunk Wit' It
on November 15th, 2006.
Members
Of course the most famous member of The Trinity is Kurtis
Blow, one of the founding fathers of hip hop. In 1979, at
the age of twenty, Kurtis Blow became the first rapper to be
signed by a major label. His last mainstream album "Back By
Popular Demand" is from 1988, but the MC is focussing again
on making music, be it this time, holy hip hop, of which the
single Crunk Wit' It (2006) is the first example.
Ricky B.
Frederick Burchell is Ricky B. who released his debut album
The Calling on D-Fusion Music/ Broken Records in 1998. He
has released several albums. Besides being a rapper, he is a
producer and a youth minister at Murfreesboro Faith Center
in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and the man behind the label B4
Entertainment. He has also released albums as part of the
duo Ricky B & 4Given.
Chris Flow
Chris Forehand is Chris Flow, who lives in Louisville,
Kentucky. He was born in Louisville in 1968 and was educated
in Jefferson County Public Schools. He excelled at football
and loved the game.
Football
He found that he could use his talent to get things from
people who wanted to use him to further their own careers.
Coaches courted him with favors and he soon began to use the
system to get things to go his way. Chris soon began to
enjoy the good things that life had to offer and he didn't
have to pay a cent for it. He was soon to discover that
every thing has a price.
Rhyming
Early in his life Chris discovered that he had a talent for
rhyming words. At the age of 13 he began to write rap songs
and to sing them in the the neighborhood. He rapped at block
parties when he was too young to be allowed to perform in
clubs. When he was older he began to rap with professionals.
He opened concerts for Master P, LL Cool J, Kurtis Blow,
Eight Ball, MJG, the late Notorious Big, Heavy D, and UTFO.
The money was good, but not good enough.
Big money
Drugs were easy to get and easy to sell. This was big money.
This was the good life with a capital G. But, bullets don't
see green. After getting shot in 1995 and spending almost
three months in the hospital, Chris felt a calling on his
life to enter the ministry and to preach the Gospel to all
the lost sheep. However, he refused to answer that call.
The Law
Instead, after he was released from the hospital, he
developed and released a Gangster Rap Album entitled, Deal
Gone Bad. In 1996 more than 800 copies of this album sold
locally. Rap recordings, drugs, and theft kept Chris in the
green and in the streets. After several run-ins with the
law, he finally was not able to beat the rap for dealing
drugs, theft, and being a persistent felon and ended up in
prison for 6 years.
Commitment
It was there that Chris finally realized that the calling on
his life was truly from God. He made a firm commitment to
give his life to Christ. In 2000 Chris met and married
Katrina Goatley, a young lady who had already dedicated her
life to Christ. Together they worship the Lord in Spirit and
in Truth.
Minister
Chris is currently an Associate Minister of the Mt. Sinai
A.O.H. Church of God. Chris is a Talent Recruiter for
Louisville Youth Opportunity Network, owner of Beforehand
Records, father of two sons and stepfather of another son
and one daughter.
