Ministry
Holy South is a youth and young adult ministry that was
founded in Memphis, Tennessee by Mr. Del. The vision was
given in June 2000 and birthed in April 2001.
Kingdom
As Mr. Del states: "We were established on I Peter 2:9
"But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people.
You are a kingdom of priests, God's holy nation, his very
own possession. This is so you can show others the goodness
of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his
wonderful light".
Holy
About the name Holy South Mr. Del explains: "The south has
always been noted as the dirty south, but we are people that
are chosen by God; He has washed us with his precious blood
and now are declared clean. So we are not the dirty south,
we're the Holy South."
Multicultural
The concept of the term Holy South is representing the
Trinity (God, the Father. God, the Son. God, the Holy
Ghost). Being part of a multicultural family of diversity
under a diverse God. As Mr. Del says "The "south"
doesn't just mean the southern region or Memphis. You can
be from Canada and still represent Holy South. The south
symbolizes "humblness, humility, down on our face and knees
and always looking up to God" (I Peter 5:6)." |
