Coral Springs. He is a MC, vocalist and producer as well and
born and raised in Canton, Ohio. Prodigal Son only had four
choices to escape poverty:
1=Crime
2=School
3=Sports
4=Music
So he decided to take all 4 avenues. While in high school
Prodigal formed an R&B group that opened for a host of
artist such as Levert, Rude Boyz, Men at Large, The O'Jays
and M.C. Hammer.
Option 1
At the height of Prodigal's career he was sentenced to 1
year. in a juvenile corrections facility for a period of a
year, and an adult prison for a period of a year where he
had perfected his musical gift.
Option 2
Prodigal Son then moved to Columbus, Ohio to attend college
and make a better living for himself.
Option 4
While attending Columbus State Community College Prodigal
linked up with contemporary jazz band P. Rainey Coalition
under Sony Music recordings, performing front line vocals
for the band, and performing in various night clubs and
major jazz venues.
Jazz
Opening for such acts as Pieces of a Dream, George Clinton,
Mickey Howard, Spiral Jira and many more. In 1998 Prodigal
performed a song entitled Guilty Eyes on the bands New
Millennium/Sony recording release entitled Different Angles.

pursue his musical gift.
Florida

recording label out of Miami, Florida. In 2001 Kelly
formerly known as Q-Dizzo released a Christmas song/video
under the recording label that has soared to number 1 in 5
states. Q-Dizzo made his first national television
appearance on Showtime in Harlem, New York on September 7th,
2002 and made it to the second round of MTV's Making The

it Pt. 2. Amongst Prodigal's musical gifts he has been cast
for one major film Bad Boyz II.
Holy Hip Hop: The Prodigal Son
Being healed from breast cancer with the help of no doctors,
only God, Kelly turned into The Prodigal Son, giving his
life and music to God. Now strictly working for God, no
longer performing in clubs, Prodigal now performs and
ministers regularly in churches, outreach programs,
drug/prison institutions and the streets, Having shared the
stage with great performers such as T-Bone, Anointed, Nikki
Leonti, Gospel Gangstas and many others.
Label

Records that has been signed to international distribution
in the United Kingdom.

is released in October 2003, his sophomore record "Crossing
the Red Sea : Part 2" was released in August 2004.

Award as an independant artist in May of 2004.
Stops
On February 12th, 2007 the rapper announces he will be
leaving the holy hip hop scene as an artist: "This will be
my last year performing Gospel hip hop. God is, has, and
will continue to stay good..in my life..and others...thank
you all for your support, blessings and prayers over the
years."
New musical style
As Prodigal Son states he won't stop his music ministry:
"I'm going to solely do R&G as another challenge to expand
the ministry. Rap can't reach everyone. And those who it
won't reach, will be reached thru psalm [...] I will produce
more within the next year. Prodigal continues about his new
musical style: "They call it Rhythm and Gospel. I call it
Rhythm and Street."
Actor
But by a turn of events this did not happen. On October
23rd, 2007 the news was released he will be added to the
line up of a traveling play "Life Behind The Mask". The role
is an ex convict who has given his life to the Lord and
turns to the ministry. This is a 21 city tour that begins
November 16/17, 2007 in Montgomery, Alabama.
Last Album?
Although it seemed the MC's last album would be "My Blokk"
(2007), a project entitled "My Block Part 2" would be
released on Tyscot Records of Deitrick Haddon. The album
would be re-named as "Rap Star?" (2008).
New Project
The rapper continues his musical legacy with the 2010
project " Kingdom Swagga-Nomics" to be distributed by
Infinity Music Distribution.
Albumtitle
The title of the record "Kingdom Swagga-Nomics" according to
Prodigal Son “means that we do things for and through Christ
a different way than the carnal-minded does. Kingdom Swag
is being cool, hip, fashionable but only moving and having a
swag described by Christ in Mark 16:15 “go into all the
world and preach the gospel.” The concept of this project
is for the body of Christ to learn and grow from Christ
alone.
