Info:O. LaShawn Batiste is Lil La La from San Jose, California. She's known as one of the most innovative christian femcees.

Entrepreneur
Lil La La is an entrepreneur by heart besides rapping she's the CEO of MicRippaz Holy Hip Hop Magazine & GCO Designs, a graphic designing company. Plus president of GCO Records/Productions, an independent recording company.

Magazine
MicRippaz is the only Holy Hip Hop printed magazine on the West Coast.

Beginnings
She was born September 14, 1979 in San Jose, California. She is the second oldest child in a family of five children. La La graduated High School in 1997 with a 3.5 gpa and a desire to be an architect. But God had other plans for her.

Dance
At the age of 3 she began her quest in the field of modeling and dance. She studied dance for three years, became a Barbizon girl and participated in her first pageant, Ms. Northern California, where she placed first runner up.

Music
At the age of 5, La La accepted Christ and began to blossom in the world of music. She pushed for perfection and reached for the stars. She excelled in music, playing the clarinet, but found this did not satisfy her yearning to spread the word to other youth her age. By age 10, she was playing the drums for her church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she was the drummer for four different choirs.

Choir
Between the age of 10 and 20, LaLa has continued to grow and has participated in
numerous competitions, designed houses and apartment buildings and founded a choir, TheBerryessa Community Children's Choir.

Appreciation
Prior to graduation from High School, she was recognized by the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority in 1997 and received the Santa Clara County Certificate of Appreciation for her work in the community.

Crew
In 1999, she founded another group, Gods Chosen Ones. This group sing, rap and dance. They have performed through out California as far north as San Francisco and as far south as San Diego. They have performed for many recording artist such as John P. Kee and the UC Davis Gospel Choir.

Awards
In 2000, she received the Santa Clara Valley Martin Luther King Good Neighbor Award
for her dedication and commitment to working with the youth in the community, and the Santa Clara County Foster Care Certificate of Appreciation for her committed work in the community and work with foster children.

Stage Experience
She has ministered with or shared the stage with the following artist: Sean Slaughter, Lil iROCC Williams, K-Drama, T-Dogg, K-Drama, Mercenary 6, DJ Maximas, Saylah, John P. Kee, Platinum Souls, Shekinah, J Silas, Corey Red & Precise, Cross Movement's Cruz Cordero, Innate, King MC, Jahword, Dynamic Twins, Gods Son, The Fishermen, EMC, Gods Army, Godfear Movement, Gospel Gangstas, and many more.

Compilations
Lil La La is featured on the compilation:
- Holy Hip Hop : Taking The Gospel To The Streets Volume 5 (2007)

Albums
With records like "The Forgiven One" (2003) and "God's University" (2004), "Bringin da Pain" (2005), she has grown in the gospel and has allowed Christ to mold her in the way he wants. Her fourth album "I Am That I Am" (2006) is a totally different approach, than anyone has every seen.

2 Years
The two year recording process was a journey. She recorded over 80 tracks within two years and was able to drop two albums in 3 months.

Concept
The concept of "I Am That I Am" is very simple. Lil La La is letting people know that God is in control of all things. "We have no power without Christ, but it is through Christ that we receive our strength".

New Project
The MC announced a new album on June 26th, 2007, it will be called: "Life after Death : My Life, My Story" and is to be released in 2008.
