his life in September 2001. He began rapping at the age of
17 years old and was part of a battle group called the Parts
of Speech (of the Deadly Scribes Crew). As he says "I used
to spit self-glorifying blasphemous lyrics in an attempt to
get props by saying the most outrageous stuff possible".
Debut Album
But that has changed his first holyhiphop album was released
on Lamp Mode Recordings in 2005. Timothy says about the
album: "It celebrates God�s miraculous power in giving new
life to spiritually dead sinners and testifies of His love,
kindness, and grace- in taking those who were once His
enemies storing wrath for themselves, and graciously
punishing Jesus Christ in their place".
Goal
So his goal in hip hop has changed: " I emphasize a
Cross-centered Gospel message. I attempt to edify believers
through sound biblical teaching".
Sophomore release
His sophomore album is called "Killing sin" (2005).
Time Out
On May 10th, 2007 it was announced on the site Lampmode.com,
that the artist Timothy Brindle would step back from his
position as an artist:
"This statement concerns our beloved brother Timothy
Brindle. In a moment, you will hear from him directly, but
we wanted to preface his remarks by informing you that, upon
receiving counsel and also consulting with Tim, he has
agreed to step back from public speaking/hip-hop ministry
due to an ongoing pattern of sin which has proven to be
destructive to both himself and his family."
Personal Note
The MC includes the following in his personal statement: "I
admit that in my pride, I've dreaded the day that my sin
would be exposed to the people. The truth is, I sowed what
I've reaped by continually sinning and rebelling against
God. I have dishonored His Name and hurt my loved ones
through my failure to consistently submit to Jesus. I ask
for the forgiveness of all supporters and listeners--and to
the body of Christ at large for my poor example. I
acknowledge that I have been selfish by not obeying Christ
for your sake, and I realize that you too are affected by my
deep struggle with sin. There is no sense in ministering
truths that I am not living. Just know that this process is
necessary for my sanctification. Therefore, the first
priority is to get my life, holiness, and family in order,
so that I can serve my wife and children, and then be
effective for the Lord's Kingdom."
Albums & New Task
The label also states: "Effective immediately, we will
discontinue the sale of both The Great Awakening and Killing
Sin. Timothy will not be ministering on Lamp Mode projects
or from the stage at concerts. He will, however, continue to
serve- we don't believe that sin prevents you from serving
the Lord, period." It's just the public ministering/teaching
aspect that Timothy is stepping back from. He will continue
to serve behind the scenes and he will be visible at Lamp
Mode functions."
