Info:The Procussions hailing from Colorado consisted of Mr. J Medeiros and Stro. Until 2007 The Procussions were a trio, including Resonant. Resonant or Res would leave the group in July 2007 to focus on his other career, being a graphic designer. On January 17th, 2008 Mr. J announced the disbanding of the group.

Members
Stro is a classically trained musician, who plays the guitar, piano, trumpet and drums. Mr. J Medeiros brings in his experience of MC battles and he has lead the relocation of the crew to Los Angeles in 2002. Music wise he can also play the drums and piano.

Old members
On July 9th, 2007 Mr. J announced the leaving of the member Res. Resonant is an MC, who co-founded the Colorado radio show Basementalism. Further more he handled the group's graphic production and web design. As Mr. J states: "Res has decided to follow his graphic designer dreams and leave The Procussions".

Formation
The Procussions started as a 6 man group in 1998, when members of two b-boy crews decided to stop having rivalry and to make changes in the Colorado music scene.

Name
The name Procussion is a hybrid divided in two main elements, "pro", being the prefix and Cussion being the root. "Pro" meaning to be in favor of, or to be in support of, and "Cussion" taken from the word Per-Cussion, which means to impress a sound up on the ear. When fused together, the two elements create the definition of this musical movement. Being a Progressive Sound, Professional Sound, Protesting Sound, Probing Sound, Procuring Sound, The Procussions Sound.

Touring
The Procussions were selected to tour with A Tribe Called Quest in September and October 2006.

New label
In 2005 the Procussions sign a recorddeal with Rawkus Entertainment. A new album called "5 Sparrows for 2 Cents" is released for this label early 2006.

Video
In April 2006 they release the video "The Storm", before the American release of the album "5 Sparrows for 2 Cents".

Compilations
The crew can be found on many compilations here a few examples:
- DJ Maj: Full Plates (2001)
- DJ Aslan: Sphere of Hip Hop Mixtape (2004)
- Various: Heavy Rotation [Volume 1] (2006)

Debut Album
The Procussions first full length album entitled "As iron sharpens iron" is released on Basementalism Records in 2004.

Albums
In May 2007 a special download album is released called "Proseeds". It contains tracks that have been released on mixtapes, Japanese album versions, guest appearances or otherwise hard to get hold of music.

The End
On January 17th, 2008 Mr. J announced the disbanding of the group, the official MySpace bulletin went out on January 18th, 2008: "With everything we could say about the industry, the point is, piracy will destroy an independent's career. We want to thank everyone who actually invested in this group and helped it too it's last breath! We owe you so much! That's why Stro and I will do our best to carry on our solo careers and work together when possible."
