Anno 1996
Battling in South California, since 1996 along with other
Immortal Fader Fyter (IF2) members, he still competes in the
present circuits today.
Competitions
The DJ is honored to have entered large competitions such as
the 1999 DMC World Team Competition- the first team category
for DMC. Other large battles include International
Turntablists Federation (ITF) and the Guitar Center Spin
Off.
Beginnings
DJ Aslan recalls his first experience with turntables: "I
started DJ-ing in 1993 with my friend Patrick (DJ P-Trix),
because he was the one that had turntables then. I finally
got a pair in 1994."
The Kick
He continues: "The best part of DJ-ing is "jam
scratching", because at that point you are able to use the
turntable as an instrument and step into the realm of
incredible soloists, like Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Rich or DJ
Qbert."
Featured
DJ Aslan features his skills on the "Intro" of rapper
Fedel's mixtape entitled "Growing Pains Mixtape", which
is released on Fedelity Music in 2006.
Albums
The DJ will release "Sphere of Hip Hop Mixtape Volume 2"
and the "Illect Sampler" and in 2007. DJ Aslan's first
project of 2007 however is the reinVINTAGE mixtape, which is
released on May 5th, 2007 at the launch of Vintage Clothing
Limited. |
