Info: | Reverend Run (Joseph Simmons) from the world famous crew Run
DMC already released a holyhiphop compilation album called
"Rev. Run Presents" in 1995. This featured several crews,
but in 2005 he made his solodebut with Distortion.
During the performances of Run DMC in the end of the
nineteen nineties, Rev. Run would preach to the public for a
moment. He has been ordained in the Pentecostal church and
is therefore “Reverend Run". His change of heart came after
hitting rock bottom financially and in his private life. Run
says "My musical and financial successes were no longer
enough. I needed for the pain to stop...I turned to God".
Run is perceived as a prosperity preacher, although the
gospel message is not strongly presented in the music the
positive attitude he wants to bring in hip hop is noble.
