Info:One of the first hip hop labels in the world founded by Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin in the nineteen eighties. Russell had a brother, Joseph, who was in a group called Run DMC and the rest is history. Other famous names are LL Cool J, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and Jay-Z.
Def Jam continued to grow and Antonio (LA) Reid is the new chairman from February 2005.
