mother is Jamaican and his father is Cuban. He finished high
school down in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and made his way to
the left coast after leaving the military.
As the MC states: "After the doctor severed my umbilical
cord, I was nourished by the streets of Queens, New York. I
did not embrace Hip Hop, it sustained me. I hugged my radio
many nights to drown out the sound of an abusive
father."
Awards
His single,"The Focus" was included on the nationally
distributed CD Holy Hip Hop Volume 1, which was nominated
for a Grammy Award in 2005. In the same year he also
received the Sacramento Black Music Award for "Best Holy
Hip Hop Performer".
His music
The MC says about his music: "I really do not believe in
categorizing music. If you feel it, its good. If it
nourishes you and makes you want to be a better person, its
right. If all you ever want to do is dance, then you need to
examine yourself.
The outpouring of my soul in music naturally blesses God and
gives Him all the glory. God is my source. If I do not
mention Him in my music, I would be ungrateful. This music
is not "Christian Rap", this is real music. Real to me as
I see it and convey it. I pray it blesses you and caresses
your speakers once in a while."
