Rawsrvnt, pronounced as raw servant, is originally from
Miami, Florida. He now resides in West Palm Beach, Florida,
where he hones his music skills, quickly becoming one of
holy hip-hop’s finest advocates.
Rap
His love for music was discovered at the age of 11 and by
age 12, this young prodigy began using his rap skills by
opening for pioneer Christian rap group, E.T.W. at Studio
777, a popular club in Coral Springs, Florida.
Thug life
Though Rawsrvnt was a diamond in the rough and gifted to
spread the gospel, his life took an unexpected turn on a
downward spiral path. Instead of pursuing and perfecting
his God-given gifts, he abandoned them for frivolous,
riotous living. During his teenage years, he experienced a
series of events that caused him to stray away from the
truth and adopt the “thug life” mentality portrayed by many
artists seen in provocative mainstream music videos. He
briefly became caught up in drugs, promiscuity, and crime,
which caused friction between family and friends, ultimately
leaving him homeless.
Home
Coming to the realization that his lifestyle was prohibiting
him from advancing and separated him from God, just as the
prodigal son, he returned home to his faith, his family, and
his music.
Albums
He has released three independent albums, Representin’
(2003) and Gone Fishin’ (2004), In Rare Form (2005), and a
limited edition remix EP, Unshakeable (2005) under his own
innovative organization, Soul Deep Ministries.
Concerts
He has also acquired an ever-increasing fan base and
traveled extensively across the U.S.A. – even treading
international waters to the continents of Africa and Europe.
His travel itinerary is quite impressive including the
largest holy hip-hop festivals in the nation: Fla.vor Fest
(Tampa, Florida), Rap Fest (Bronx, New York).
Award
At the Holy Hip-Hop Awards (Atlanta, Georgia) he has been
given the 2006 Holy Hip-Hop award for his dedication and
quality music.
Distribution
Rawsrvnt also receives distribution in the United Kingdom
through Spirit Music (June 4th, 2007).
Label
On June 1st, 2006 Rawsrvnt announced, that the Fla.vor
Alliance Media Group would release his hip hop worship album
"In Rare Form" as an enhanced CD nationally on August 1st,
2006.
New Projects
The MC announces on his MySpace blog, May 19th, 2007 the new
project: Makin' Moves on the label Soul Deep Ministries for
September 2007. As well as a new worship album, this will be
released in 2008. No title is known as of yet. |
