| Info: | Sev Statik is from Albany, New York and is member of two of
the finest crews within the holyhiphop scene being the
Tunnel Rats and Deepspace5. He has made several albums and
guest appearances.
Alter ego
Sev Statik's alter ego Stu Dent has released two albums to
date. Stu Dent is a character inspired by the book of
Genesis during the time of Noah. The Nephilim album of 2003
is the first part of three in the The Act of God series.
Shelved
Realistikk and Sev Statik made an album together: "Word
Format" (2004). This project was shelved. Sev Statik would
like to re-record the tracks, as he states: "Actually, she
came to Albany, New York and I recorded everything she had
for this project and was going to lay my vocals after she
left, but I decided that we should do it again and record
together at the same time... song to song."
Vinyl
Sev Statik released a split vinyl single with The Pride,
entitled "Something IV Nothing" on Deepspace5 Records in
1997. Look under "Pride" for more details.
Special Project
Sev Statik is also part of the release "Falling Tsar
Project" (ILLECT Recordings - 2007). The album is made to
raise funds for eight year-old cancer patient Mason.
Back to Dust
In 2006 DJ Dust and rapper Sev Statik teamed up to make the
album: "Back To Dust". The album is released by Rawkus 50 in
October 2007.
Body Language
In 2008 Sev Statik teams up with Rick Whispers to form Body
Language and release the album "All Up In Yer Grill Piece".
Production by Dert, Finer Arts and Grey Matter. Releasedate
June 2008.
Albums
In 2006 two limited editions are released by Sev Statik they
are Afterburn (Slow Burn Remix LP) and a new full length
album called The Sliver LP.
Postponed projects
For 2008 the album "The Powers That Be" was announced, but
this has been put on hold until later notice. Another Stu
Dent album is still on it's way in The Act of God series,
volume 2, but no date is set for it.
New Projects
The two EP's announced earlier on January 19th, 2008 evolved
into a full length album project called "Shotgun". It's a
straight digital album to release this summer. |
